A SUPERMARKET security guard was stabbed twice with a syringe after he detained a suspected thief.
The guard was on duty at Safeway in Bury Road, Breightmet, yesterday when a struggle broke out and the guard suffered two stab wounds.
He was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital for treatment. A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged with wounding and making threats to kill.
He was due to appear before Bolton magistrates today.
