A MAN sold £720 worth of appliances he stole from his flat for a few pence to feed drink and drugs addiction, Bury magistrates were told.
Andrew William Farrell, aged 34, of Walmersley Road, Bury, admitting the theft of electrical equipment belonging to the Bethany Project, a housing scheme for the homeless, a further charge of stealing a bottle of spirits worth £15 from Asda, and failing to surrender to court.
Stanley Sumara, defending, said: "All of a sudden he became addicted to both drink and drugs. He was on skid row living on the streets."
Farrell was given conditional bail until November 2.
