I CANNOT understand the letter the other week complaining that Bolton Market is going downhill.
We have customers coming every week from Liverpool, Fleetwood, Blackpool, Wales, Oldham, Wigan and the other side of Manchester. They all say what a wonderful market we have and how they wish they had something like this in their town.
Where else can you buy fish, fruit and vegetables from all over the world, raw meat, cooked meat, frozen food, cheese, bread and cakes? We also have stalls selling fabric, shoes, electrical goods, cards, jewellery, opticians, hairdressers, pots, pans, bedding, make-up, clothing, flowers and cafes.
What else do you need?
I am sorry we are not Harrods. You would not be able to buy an elephant -- we are a market.
So come on Bolton people, look under your noses and appreciate what you've got before it's too late.
