I FAIL to see why all this fuss was made of Yvonne Ridley, a reporter, however dedicated, who put a story before her safety.

This person knew of the opinion and disgusting treatment of women by the Taliban, yet she stupidly put her safety, and possibly her life in jeopardy by entering Afghanistan without a passport and visa.

Much was made of her nine-year-old daughter Daisy, and the fact that she left her in the care of her boarding school and grandmother. Surely, this woman must have known of her intentions, and it begs the question, "did she attempt to talk Ms. Ridley out of her blatantly stupid intention of sneaking into Afghanistan", with the possibility that she could possibly have made her daughter an orphan? So we subsequently had the scenario of representatives of an enemy government, Great Britain, approaching the Taliban and pleading for the life of a British subject.
