MEMBERS of Bolton Little Theatre hope to keep a smile on their faces with Alan Ayckbourn's comedy Things We Do For Love.

Following the theatre's success with Trotters which played to audiences of more than 500 people, and the phenomenal week of Noel and Gertie, which was a complete sell-out, members are laughing -- and hope to keep on chuckling with their next production.

The comedy will run from Saturday, October 20 to 27.

Harold Smith will be directing. He said: "It really is a hilarious play with, as usual with Ayckbourn, a sadness bubbling under the surface.

Complexity

"It is one of the master's later plays and is seldom attempted by amateurs because of the complexity of the set.

"The action is in a three storey flat -- a basement, ground floor and first floor. To see how Michael Tatman and his team have accomplished this on the stage of BLT is alone worth the price of admission."

The cast includes Sue Bolus as Nikki, June Grice as Barbara, Andrew Close as Hamish and David Pollard as Gilbert.

Another success for Bolton Little Theatre within the past 12 months was its production of the bittersweet comedy A Different Way Home by Jimmie Chinn. The production went out to full houses earlier in the year. Michael Hope played the lead role and Andrew Close directed. Now, it is back by popular demand.

Those who missed out first time, will get to see the play from October 31 to November 4 in the Forge Theatre. Bolton Little Theatre's Christmas production will be Charles Dickens' timeless classic A Christmas Carol, running December 1,2,5 to 8.

Tickets for Things We Do For Love are from 524469 (6pm to 8pm), or the Albert Halls Ticket Centre on 334400. IN ACTION: Actors mock up a scene from Things We Do For Love
