PLANS for a two-storey hotel in Horwich will be put to the vote following a site visit by councillors.
Applicant Punch Travel Inns has applied for permission to build a 60-bed hotel at the side of the Beehive pub in Chorley New Road as well as create 106 car parking spaces.
The plans, which have caused concern among nearby residents and Horwich Town Council, were deferred at a previous Bolton Council planning meeting, but the applicant has amended its proposal.
The company agreed to retain access to Chorley New Road and Austin Lane as exit and entrance points and improve visibility from both junctions.
A car park survey has also been completed which revealed peak times for the pub will not clash with peak times for the proposed hotel as the majority of guests arrive at a travel inn between 6pm and 9pm and leave the following morning between 7am and 10pm.
The highways department has not raised any objections to the site of the hotel despite five accidents having happened outside the pub during the past three years.
A total of 16 letters of complaint have been received by the council from residents fearing the hotel will cause traffic, highway, noise and visibility problems.
The proposal will be considered at Thursday's planning committee meeting.
