I WAS shocked and dismayed at the recent anti-British and anti-American rally outside the University of Central Lancashire, Preston.
I felt it was in very bad taste indeed, and sets a very dangerous precedent, especially in the light of recent events.
I sympathise emphatically with the American lecturer, who has two children fighting in this war. Also the students and lecturers who took part in this should be taken to task.
I trust that the powers-that-be will look into this, and, as a responsible parent, I hope there will not be a repetition of this kind of event again in this country. Our universities have an obligation to uphold democracy and have the highest regard for human life.
