I WOULD like to thank those shops in Radcliffe who had one of my collecting boxes for the great loss in the American tragedy.
The total of all the boxes in Radcliffe, Little Lever and Farnworth came to £660. I was ever so pleased to collect so much and I do thank you all.
The money was handed over to the Red Cross, who will forward it on to all concerned.
And now to the powers-that-be. It would be nice to have a memorium built on Victoria Square and put on all the names of those we lost in America. Each September 11 we could call that day Bolton Flower Day and let everyone buy flowers in respect to all those loved ones.
I am sure, with a little effort, it could be done.
