AN INQUEST has been opened into the case of an eight-week-old baby who died a month after the death of her father.
Bury District Coroner Mr Barrie Williams heard identification in the case of Lauren Ann Pearson, of Roman Road, Prestwich, who was found at home in a collapsed state and taken to Hope Hospital.
She was later transferred to Manchester Royal Hospital and placed on a life support machine but died on October 9.
Lauren, born at Fairfield General Hospital, was the daughter of David Pearson and Maxine Cassidy.
Mr Pearson, aged 27, died on September 8 after a suspected drugs overdose.
Mr Geoff Cave, Bury Coroner's Officer, told the coroner that detectives had looked into the matter and were satisfied there was no third party involvement.
The coroner adjourned the hearing pending full reports.
