ONCE again the air is made hideous with the sound of fireworks being set off morning, noon and night, probably through this month and next at the very least.
I wonder, would it not be possible for a bye-law to be enacted prohibiting the sale and detonating of fireworks until November 4 or 5, thereby restoring to some degree the original purpose of the celebration?
It does seem such a pity that the increased affluence of society should be manifest in the increase of noise and litter, don't you think?
