WITH regard to the terrorist attack in New York, I obviously share my sympathy to those who have lost their loved ones, as do your readers and like-minded people.

However, I must honestly say that I don't like our involvement, which could put our country at risk.

Tony Blair is hanging onto President Bush's coat-tails as have past Prime Ministers, such as during the Gulf War.

We seem to bend over backwards to get involved in other people's fights.

America can stand on its own two feet, and we must remember that they weren't straining at the reins to help us during World War Two. We were alone for over two years.

We ought to have taken a leaf out of Sweden's book, as not only have they been neutral during both wars, they had a good democratic socialist government who had National Health Service in 1927.

We have been the mug of Europe, always bailing out other countries.

Incidentally had Hitler won the war, he would have taken Sweden and Switzerland and other so-called neutral countries.
