HAVING just watched the weekly encounter between the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition at Question Time in the House of Commons, I'm reminded of the American wit Ralph Waldo Emerson who noted that the more a man talks of his integrity, the faster we should count our spoons!
Hearing new Tory leader Iain Duncan-Smith talk about improving public services is simply incredible.
Less than six months ago, the Tories went into the General Election pledging to cut £20 billion pounds from public expenditure in order to fund tax cuts for fat cats.
Now they seriously expect us to believe that they can be trusted running our public services.
I'm afraid leopards don't change their spots.
The Tories slashed investment in every public service from hospitals to universities during their miserable 18 years in power.
They simply cannot be trusted with our education and healthcare systems.
Iain Duncan-Smith is just another Conservative leader desperate to get back into power and will say anything that it takes to do it.
