LITTLE Brandon Tattersall is enjoying playing with his nursery school pals just weeks after cheating death in a road accident.

The three-year old was able to make his first day at Duke Street Nursery, Chorley, despite running into the path of a car during a visit to the home of his aunt, Michelle Brown, close to the school a month ago.

He suffered head injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Preston Hospital and later transferred to the specialist Pendlebury Children's Hospital in Manchester. A brain scan showed there was no internal bleeding and X-ray revealed no broken bones

His parents Lisa Tattersall and David Brown kept a bedside vigil at the hospital.

The youngster, who lives in Water Street, Chorley, with his mother was able to take up his place at nursery after making a speedy and full recovery within a week.

Lisa told the Citizen: "He was very lucky and is fine now.

"He had the accident on the Sunday and was rushed over to Manchester. By Wednesday he was walking about. He came home on the Friday and started nursery on Monday, so he didn't miss a day.

"He has settled in really well at nursery and is enjoying it."

The headteacher at Duke Street Nursery, Karen Coffey, is also delighted with his progress since the accident.

He added: "He has settled in tremendously. It really is amazing how well he has recovered from such a traumatic experience. It's frightening to think what could have happened.

"He's made friends and we are pleased with his progress." LUCKY: Brandon joins his little buddies at Duke Street Nursery after his accident a month ago.
