TEENAGER Anna Maciejkowicz, from Belmont, Bolton, scooped two awards at the Yamaha Clavinova Piano Festival held in Preston.
Organised by Yamaha and co-ordinated by "music Cellar" of Preston, 30 amateur performers competed in four under-18 age groups in front of adjudicator and concert pianist John Gough, who teaches at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Anna, aged 18, has been learning the piano for 11 years under the instruction of Joan Hall and is a student at Ashton Sixth Form College. She performed Chopin's Nocturne Op 72, No 1, to win the 16 to18 section. Her performance also earned her "The Most Promising Performer" award.
Anna said: "I'm delighted to have won and enjoyed the challenge of playing at such a brilliant festival."
Andy Carvill, of Yamaha, said: "We enjoyed some outstanding performances from some talented young musicians. We congratulate Anna and wish her well."
