ORGANISERS of a village carnival are appealing for help in finding a new chairman for their committee.
The team which runs Adlington carnival need to find a chairman after Bill Bayliss stepped down from the role.
They are hoping a former managing director or company director who has retired will step into the position and offer to chair meetings.
Candidates do not need to live in Adlington and only have to spare a couple of hours per month to help out.
As vice-chairman Mike Thompson has also stepped down, but will continue to help on the committee, new volunteers are desperately needed to organise next year's three day event which costs £50,000 to stage.
Stalwart carnival organiser Colin Prescott said: "We want to put the fun back into the carnival and are going to introduce new working procedures to revolutionise the event.
"Anyone with ideas on what we can do is urged to join the committee because we've got a completely blank page to work on."
The next meeting of the committee will be held on Tuesday October 30.
