the holy days I UNDERSTAND through the media, that Afghanistan is not to be bombed on Fridays, as a mark of respect, as Friday is a Muslim holy day. Can someone explain the criteria used when the decision was taken to bomb Afghanistan on October 7, which was a Sunday, a Christian holy day, the "Sabbath". When was the first bomb dropped, before or after Vespers (evening prayers).
Was this showing respect for a Christian holy day? Doesn't this denigrate Christianity?
Tony Blair said this is not a holy war. Isn't this hypocrisy when we see so many who are Christianophobic in our society? There seems to be a law for one and a law for others, and that Christianity will be a casualty sacrificed on the alter of expediency as and when it suits the powers-that-be.
Shouldn't Christianity be shown some respect? If the powers that be wish to be impartial in this conflict, where religion is concerned, then whatever they decide to do on a Sunday, they must be prepared to do on a Friday as well . In other words, if you are going to respect Friday as a holy day, then respect Sunday as a holy day too.
