IT is men against boys in the battle for Premiership glory as footie fans across Bolton show their true colours ready for tomorrow's derby clash between the Whites and Manchester United.
Super White dad Steve Dwyer will watch the clash at Old Trafford with his son Daniel -- a loyal Red Devil!
Steve, aged 39, from Calder Drive, Kearsley, joked: "Four years ago at Burnden Park they beat us 6-0 and we did not speak for a week. I could not take the embarrassment!"
He reckons the score will be 2-1 to the Trotters -- or a draw.
Steve, a delivery driver, added: "I have been a big Bolton fan since I was 11 and Daniel is a Manchester United fanatic. He has not missed a home game for the past four years.
"We have a joke about it because I don't quite know what went wrong! He wants his team and he will not change and things do get heated sometimes in the house.
"My wife does not get involved. She just leaves us two to it."
Daniel, aged 15, a pupil at Mount St Joseph school, added: "I just thought that I would support Manchester United. It is just one of those things and I think we will win."
But it's role reversal for Nick Murphy and son William because this time the dad is the Man United fan and the lad is a loyal Trotter.
Nick, aged 35, is hedging his bets because while he wants the reds to win, he will have to face his 10-year-old son -- who is also his Karate instructor.
The dedicated football fans, who live in Farnworth, are often in conflict with Salford-born Nick having already convinced four-year-old son Oscar to become loyal to the Reds.
Football might rule the world of the male members of the Murphy household, but mum Janet refuses to get involved in any rows over the beautiful game.
Nick, who is a television installer, and Cherry Tree Primary School pupil William have staged a bet. Whichever of them loses out on Saturday will don the opposition team's hat when they train with the Dai Ichi Ryu school of karate on Sunday.
Nick said: "I'm always arguing with football fans wherever I go with work all over the country.
"But whatever happens on Saturday I'm going to get punished by William because he'll have me doing extra press-ups at training the next day."
