BOLTON residents are enjoying an unusual legacy from the Clowns' Festival last month.
As well as more people buying juggling balls, rings and clubs, there has been a rash of sales of unicycles.
Town centre gift shop Zebra, in St Andrews Court, reports that they have already sold FIVE of the £95 unicycles to the public so far.
One of these was to a man in his 60s who had always fancied life on a single cycle.
Shop owner Gill Terrell told the BEN that all kinds of people have been buying them, mainly as gifts for friends.
Gill even had one bought as a birthday present for her. "I thought it might be good for my thighs," she stated. "But, even though I tried, I just couldn't get the hang of it."
Natalie, 22, pictured right, found that practice does eventually make perfect. "You try and try, then one day, you find that you're actually cycling -- and you're hooked!" she said.
"It's quite a challenge."
And the juggling?
Well, that is definitely a stress-buster, added Gill Terrell .... unless, of course, you drop your clubs on your head. Ref: (J3201/14)
