A MAN was cleared of trying to sell drugs to a group of girls on a bus station on the direction of a judge.
Samantha Miller claimed she was with four friends at Leigh bus station when Scott Springhall had asked if she wanted to buy methadone and temazepam.
Appearing before Bolton Crown Court, Mr Springhall, aged 29, of Nel Pan Lane in Leigh, denied offering to sell prescription methadone and temazepam to Samantha Miller on November 16 last year.
Shouted
Miss Miller maintained that Mr Springhall had asked her if she wanted to buy drugs and claimed that her best friend Kirsty had shouted at him.
Despite repeated questioning, Miss Miller denied making up a story to protect Kirsty who had been in trouble with the police on several occasions.
But the court heard Miss Miller's friend Karen Derbyshire made a statement saying the women had made up the whole story.
