United fans, like their team, had no answer!
Shot shy United finished a dismal week following their Champions League defeat at home to Deportivo La Coruna on the receiving end yet again.
It had all started so promisingly following Veron's superb free-kick strike.
But the failure to convert possession into scoring opportunites was there for all to see.
The half-time impression was that United would still win comfortable - if the wingers were given a chance.
But although Ryan Giggs and Luke Chadwick were finally moved off the bench it was the superb Gudni Bergsson and his fellow defenders who stole the show.
