JUSSI Jaaskelainen has admitted that it was the right decison but the wrong move that led to him seeing red in the heat of the Reebok battle with Newcastle.
"I just tried to get the ball before Alan Shearer," the keeper explained, taking the rap for the sending off that left Wanderers with 10 men, turning an uphill battle into a near-impossible task.
"I thought he was going to be able to bring it down and have a free sight of goal. I was getting ready to head the ball away because I knew I was going to get it outside the box but it bounced higher than I thought and I just stuck my arm out instinctively."
Speaking on his personal website Bigfanof.com, he added: "I read the bounce wrong but I made the right decision to come out and try to stop Shearer because he would have had a very good chance to score otherwise."
