SAM Allardyce had cause for a double celebration yesterday -- his 47th birthday and the second anniversary of his appointment as manager of Bolton Wanderers.
But the popular Reebok boss had only one wish as he blew out the candles on his cake, success in today's derby game against mighty Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Big Sam, who has been an adopted Boltonian since joining the Wanderers at the age of 15, knows better than most how the team's supporters relish success over their local rivals above all others. And he promised: "We will try to give it our best shot and, hopefully, give the fans and me plenty to celebrate.
"I could not ask for a better present from the players than a positive result at Old Trafford."
