BOLTON MP David Crausby will be travelling to the Middle East next week on a high-profile mission to meet 30,000 British troops.
The Bolton North-east Labour MP will travel with nine colleagues from the Commons Defence Committee to Oman.
The three-day trip will look at new defence strategies and the rapid reaction forces deployed in the Gulf state.
Mr Crausby will travel to the Omani captital and the British forces headquarters at Al Sha'afa. His visit will mirror that of the Prime Minister's last week.
The Bolton MP will see the British troops taking part in Operation Swift Sword. Mr Crausby has been part of the defence committee since July.
The trip examine the "new thinking" in defence circles, focussing on the need to react quickly to tense situations. Mr Crausby and the committee will report their findings back to the Prime Minister. Elite forces
