THE BEN story on Tuesday last week about the closure of Shiloh Spinners had attached a photograph entitled 'Drinks Break: Mill girls in Bolton enjoy a pint of milk in this picture from 1937'.
I believe that the bespectacled young lady third from the left is my late aunt, Miss Alice Bracegirdle. She would have been around 25 to 30 years old at the time and lived in a variety of addresses in Astley Bridge, Halliwell and Heaton. I think that she last worked at Osman Textiles at School Hill.
If anyone can shed any light on this please contact me on 0777 555 7531, or by e-mail at ian@braces.freeserve.co.uk.
