MORE than 90 per cent office workers believe their employer fails to provide an ideas-inspiring culture. Research released by recruitment consultancy Office Angels found:
Nearly half (48 per cent) of office workers believe the forum for new business initiatives does not extend beyond the closed doors of the boardroom.
More than a a third (34 per cent) believe everybody else will take the credit for their idea if it is implemented.
Three out of 10 (30 per cent) say they are scared of sounding stupid or generally feel intimidated by senior staff.
Nearly one in five (18 per cent) choose not to introduce new ideas, feeling that their boss believes they will be too much effort to implement.
More than two thirds (67 per cent) of staff believe that a closed door approach to sharing ideas can lower office morale, making staff less committed to their employer.
