A BOLTON pensioner has lost a 10 day fight for life after suffering serious injuries in a road accident.
William Heyworth, aged 81, of Astley Bridge, died from his injuries at the Royal Bolton Hospital at the weekend.
Mr Heyworth suffered severe internal bleeding and a suspected fractured pelvis after the incident on Wednesday, October 11.
Police said he was involved in an accident with a Volvo 240 estate car as he walked along Blackburn Road in Astley Bridge, close to the junction with Old Road. Driver John Garside, aged 62, of Rainshaw Street, Bolton, was not hurt.
