"I THINK this will be of interest to many off-springs of those on the photograph taken nearly 70 years ago," writes Mr Ernie Hamilton, of Egerton Grove, Worsley. It is of St Gregory's School, Grade 2A, in 1932.
"I can remember most of the boys in my class of 45 children," he says, "although I am lost when it comes to naming the girls or the teacher." Mr Hamilton, who can be seen second from the left on the front row. Even among the boys, though, he cannot remember many of the Christian names, but he says among those on the picture are John Kennedy, Sydall, Joe Curry, Macatee, Fox, McCardle, Cook, Hulton, Devitt, Greenwood, Berry, Cook, Coleman, Bob Hall, Duncan, Lyons and Joe Sewell. Not bad after 70 years, I suppose!
