Leeds United Reserves 0, Wanderers Reserves 2: TWO goals either side of half time from Rod Wallace earned Bolton Reserves a deserved victory against Leeds United at Bootham Crescent .

A strong Leeds line-up came second in every department to a Bolton side that gave as good as they got in a physical encounter.

In the opening minute, Jason Wilcox headed inches wide and that was to be the home side's best chance of the evening.

Four minutes later a 30-yard piledriver from Gareth Farrelly forced keeper Paul Robinson into a spectacular diving save.

Both Wilcox and David Batty received yellow cards as Leeds became frustrated. A minute from half time the Wanderers took the lead. David Norris and Akinori Nishizawa combined to set up Wallace who side-footed the ball past Robinson.

Two minutes after the interval, Gareth Farrelly made a good run before releasing Wallace who found the net by chipping the ball over the advancing keeper.

Wallace was denied a hat-trick by Robinson when he got down to push away a shot after he had been played through by Cleveland Taylor.
