AN inquest has been opened into the death of a maintenance engineer who died following an incident at Camelot Theme Park at Charnock Richard.
Harry Mathews, 59, who worked at the amusement park, had been at The Gauntlet rollercoaster ride for about an hour before he was injured, on Monday afternoon.
Father-of-two Mr Mathews, from Merton Road, Highfield, Wigan was certified dead at the scene by paramedics.
Following a brief hearing at Preston, Coroner Mr Howard McCann adjourned the inquest, pending an inquiry by the Health and Safety Executive.
