ENERGY giant Powergen has teamed together with Age Concern to provide cut price heating bills for Bolton's elderly this winter.
The North-west has the worst record in Britain for winter deaths.
And Age Concern say that 8,000 people die in the UK every time the temperature drops one degree below zero.
In the North-west, 3,800 deaths were recorded last winter -- more than 1,000 deaths higher than any other region in the country. Now, Powergen have developed an energy offer to beat the winter blues.
The package includes energy savings on gas and electricity, cold weather payments for those aged over 60, two free low-energy lamps, free mini jug kettle, free carbon monoxide detector, free hypothermia thermometer and useful numbers card.
Those wanting to find out more about energy savings should contact Age Concern on 0800 917 3352.
