TELLY star Vernon Kay can't wait to bump into Liam Gallagher after seeing Wanderers score that incredible triumph at Old Trafford.
The pair are good pals and every time they get together the conversation inevitably turns to football with the Bolton celebrity constantly having to defend Wanderers' honour against the Oasis star's manic ramblings about his beloved Manchester City.
Gallagher reckons Wanderers' Premiership rivalry with Manchester United will be short-lived with the Blues stepping back into the derby spotlight next season.
But Vernon, the lifelong Wanderers' fanatic who hosts Channel Four's live Sunday show T4, reckons the 2-1 triumph speaks for itself - although he is well aware of the Burnage boy's notoriously short fuse when backed into a corner.
"Liam's not got a leg to stand on," he says, "but I'll have to be careful how I tell him!"
Meanwhile, Stockport-born Paul Warhurst reckons the Old Trafford win was a double whammy for him.
"I've had a lot of United friends ringing me and giving me abuse," says the happy Wanderer. "But it was great for me from a pesronal point of view because I'm a City fan anyway!
"At the end of the day, though, this was for Bolton Wanderers. It was a great day for the club and a fantastic result for the fans. It allowed them to go to work on Monday and give a bit of banter back to the United fans."
