I'M afraid that Arnold Harrison, who writes "We are now told that the smokers of cannabis will no longer be prosecuted!" is mistaken.
As has been widely publicised in the press, those found possession of cannabis may not be arrested but they will still be prosecuted.
They will receive a summons to appear in court and may receive a sentence of up to three months if the case is heard in the magistrates' court or up to two years imprisonment, if heard in a Crown Court.
