THE North-west service sector reported a recovery in both sales and orders during the third quarter of 2001.
The latest survey conducted by the North West Chambers of Commerce in
conjunction with the Royal Bank of Scotland shows that the net balance of firms reporting rising sales was back in the black compared with last quarter -- the first negative in more than five years.
The North-west manufacturing sector continues to toil, with both overseas and domestic sales declining.
