MANOR 5S THE October presentation evening saw 24 of the 28 expected award winning teams converge in the clubhouse to salute the success of a number of teams

But the most moving came with the emotional standing ovation reserved for the Manor 5s Manager of the Year 2001, Gavin Benton.

Gavin is so organised, he tmanages four M5s teams to good effect, two of these teams collecting honours.

From a team discipline and building aspect, Gavs ensures that his teams conduct themselves properly on the pitch, as well as encouraging all them to enjoy a post-match drink together.

After the recent loss of the much missed John Hodson ,18, Gavin made home visits to his players putting their grief before his, given the fact that John had been Gavin's apprentice, but his teams returned to the Manor, going on the collect the Thursday First Division title and Thursday Second Division runners-up award. Goalkeeper, Darren McCartney picked up the season's achievement award on the strength of two clean sheets during season VI.
