A LORRY-load of hamster and bird cages went up in flames outside Penine Pets Products, Little Lever, last night.
The driver raised the alarm after spotting the blaze as he was parking outside the Lever Street store at 9pm.
Firefighters saved the truck's cab but the load containing hamster and bird cages was destroyed.
