YOUNGSTERS from Bolton who are deaf can apply to a special awards scheme.
The Jack Ashley Millennium Award is a unique initiative run by the National Deaf Children's Society to give young deaf people opportunities their peers take for granted.
The scheme was launched two years ago thanks to a £1.7m lottery grant from the Millennium Commission.
Projects have included water sports, mountaineering, travelling to another country and helping deaf youngsters teach other special skills.
To receive an application pack call 020 7490 8656 or email on millennium.awards@ndcs.org.uk
