THE annual Ainsworth old folk's party took place in the village's Unitarian School rooms -- for the 53rd year.
The event is held for those residents who are aged 75 and over. This year 72 of them sat down to afternoon tea followed by entertainment from Radcliffe Male Voice Choir.
In his welcoming address, the Mayor of Bury, Cllr Paul Nesbit said the occasion showed the spirit of community co-operation at its best.
The party, which has been held every year since 1948, is organised by acommittee of local people and is funded by villagers and local businesses.
