BORING school holidays are a thing of the past at the Clemmett household in Little Lever.
For parents Wayne and Hazel have found the perfect answer to combat their youngster's half-term blues ... and keep them safe and mud-free.
The couple, from Church Street, who admit they are not gardening fans, are the first homeowners to lay NoMow in their back garden, an artificial turf normally reserved for sports pitches and pay areas.
They installed the latex lawn - costing £638 - in the whole of their back garden and now the couple's sons Lewis, aged seven and two-year-old Callum are loving every minute of it!
Manufactured by Stockport based firm FieldTech, the turf is fire-proof, stain-proof and according to the company will not graze fragile young knees if children fall over.
Mrs Clemmett, aged 31, said: "The back garden was just concrete before. It looked pretty drab.
"We saw an advert for the turf in the Bolton Journal and thought it would brighten up the back garden. Now it looks miles better that the concrete.
"The children think it is great. They are playing out on it all the time. It is the perfect answer to half-term and I am not worried about them hurting themselves."
The lawn can also be used for balconies and porches.
A spokesman for Fieldtech said: "It has just been launched countrywide and this home in Bolton is the first one to have it laid. There have been hundreds of queries and plenty of orders. It is made from polythene fibre which makes it really soft and safe."
