A LUCRATIVE contract between two business entrepreneurs will lead to extra jobs in Horwich and Bolton.
Internet consultancy Webshak in Horwich has got together with Bolton company Parcel2go.com to make it possible to send a parcel anywhere in the world at any time of the day.
Parcel2go.com, which was set-up in St Marks Street 18 months ago by managing director Fil Adams-Mercer, needed the advice of an internet consultancy and had scoured the country looking for a suitable company before finding the perfect partner only a few miles away in Horwich and signing a contract with them worth tens of thousands of pounds.
Webshak, which was originally established in the Horwich bedroom of managing director Boyd Lee, provides companies with a guaranteed page one listing on all the world's major search engines and directories.
Thanks to the advice of staff at Webshak, which is based at Winter Hey Lane in Horwich, Parcel2go.com has now attracted £1m worth of potential interest from major transport and freight carriers including E-Bay QXL, Securicor and Omega.
As both companies are growing so quickly, they will soon be looking for new recruits with an increasing need for extra team members at Webshak in the field of customer and technical services, office and internet staff.
Sales director of Webshak, Andy Taylor said: "Everyone at both companies is really excited about what the future will bring.
"The success of the parcel2go.com website can simply be put down to its novel idea and lack of competition on price for ad-hoc parcel distribution.
"This has resulted in immediate benefits and a great working relationship as the two companies could sit down and plan on a face to face basis."
