A NEW pilates class starts on November 20 at Sharples Community Leisure Centre and every Tuesday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

Pilates is a set of principles and corrective exercises which combined work the whole body, co-ordinating the upper and lower muscles to improve strength, flexibility, posture and co-ordination.

There are several versions of each exercise taught to ensure that there is a level suitable for you.

Pilates workouts leave your body feeling refreshed and relaxed, although its effects are more than just physical, the method will leave you feeling revitalised through a new sense of well being.

Its focus is on correct movement quality and not quantity which gives you a balanced strong and supple body with a flat stomach and firmer buttocks. Sessions are £3-10.

Pilates is also available at Kearsley Leisure Centre and Hayward Leisure Centre.
