A MAN accused of holding a knife to the throat of his pregnant girlfriend after she told him to leave their shared house has been found not guilty by a jury.
Zoe Jackson alleged Peter Fitton went mad after she told him their relationship was over and that she wanted him to leave.
She alleged that as she started packing his things Fitton picked up a kitchen knife and held it to her throat and threatened to kill her.
Fitton, aged 20, of Clegg Street, Astley, appeared at Bolton Crown Court on trial. He had denied threatening to kill Zoe Jackson on August 27 last year.
The couple had been together for eight months and had started living together again once the pregnancy was discovered.
In evidence Jackson said that she had been terrified and thought that Fitton was going to slash her throat.
She denied fabricating a story that Fitton was drunk and that he had held a knife to her throat.
