HE may be the pride of Bolton -- but when it comes to copying the stars Lofty the Lion is the MANE attraction!
He has already wowed the Reebok crowds with his occasional Elvis impersonation, complete with specially made white suit and Tony Curtis quiff.
But when he is a special guest at the switch-on of the town centre Christmas lights on November 15, Bolton Wanderers' lovable mascot is set to unveil a new starry attraction.
Not that Lofty is giving away any clues to his latest metamorphosis.
A spokesman would merely say that the crowds "will love the star and the music".
Already, his tribute to Elvis -- gyrating his fur to hits like "Burning Love" -- has got the football fans all shook up.
But then, as the spokesman explained, Lofty has loved Elvis "since he was a cub".
He admits that the Lion is "a bit star-struck".
But there is no truth in the rumour that the hirsute hero is trying to join pop group the Super Furry Animals.
