Man of the Match
KEVIN NOLAN
A mature performance for one so young. Impressive when Wanderers were on top in the first half and, when the chips were down, no-one did more as they plugged away for that precious equaliser. So unlucky not to score.
Moan of the Match
Nothing infuriates players and fans more than a referee's refusal to play "advantage". Mr D'Urso was far too quick to blow his whistle.
Magic Moment
Having seen Wanderers work so hard to rescue a point and been denied by good goalkeeping, the woodwork and a dodgy disallowed goal, it was an enormous relief to see Ricketts flick that late equaliser over the line.
KICK BY KICK
GOAL! 10 mins : Nolan is fouled and Frandsen catches Everton cold with a trademark free kick from 20 yards. 22 mins Gardner races in but is just beaten by Pistone, who cuts out Ricketts' dangerous cross.
26 mins: Bergsson frustrates Unsworth with a superb tackle as Gascoigne makes his presence felt for the first time. 28 mins Warhurst is so unlucky, meeting Frandsen's corner with a copybook volley which Simonsen sees late and does well to block. 36 mins Gravesen hits a powerful shot just inches over Poole's bar.
GOAL! 44 mins Bergsson is penalised and booked for a foul on Radzinski, Gemill and Gravesen tee up the free kick and Stubbs hammers an unstoppable right-footer past Poole. Half-time: Wanderers 1, Everton 1 .50 mins Wallace hesitates as Bergsson nods the ball into space and a chance goes begging. 52 mins Poole comes out purposefully to clear Gravesen's cross but in the melee Charlton is injured and has to leave the field. 56 mins Alexandersson spurns a good chance, hitting a tame shot straight at Poole.
GOAL! 57 mins Wanderers are punished for some loose defending, Gascoigne driving the ball home from Naysmith's cross. 60 mins Diawara gets away with a hash of a clearance when Radzinski fires over. 62 mins Wallace is desperately unlucky as his shot deflects off Weir and is tipped onto the bar by Simonsen. 65 mins Ricketts' header puts Wallace through but he shoots wide under pressure. 72 mins Whitlow produces a sensational recovery tackle on Radzinski as Farrelly's backpass deflects dangerously off Diawara. 74 mins Gardner gets on the end of N'Gotty's cross but his first-timer is blocked by Weir. 75 mins Nolan is denied the first time when Simonsen saves his close-range header. 76 mins This time Nolan has the ball in the net but the ref sees a Holdsworth handball in the build up. 80 mins It's Nolan again, the youngster diverting Diawara's header narrowly wide. 87 mins Diawara is red-carded after a tackle on Unsworth - his second bookable offence. 90 mins Holdsworth meets Gardner's corner with a powerful header but the ball flies over.
GOAL! 90 mins At last, Bergsson climbs high to head a Gardner corner on target and Ricketts, posted on the line, makes sure with a neat flick of his heel. Full-time: Wanderers 2, Everton 2
