ABOUT 300 members of the St John Ambulance No. 2 Area Brigade took part in a parade and presentation ceremony in Bolton in May, 1973.
The District Commissioner, Major W.H. Walker, handed over the new area flag to the Area Commissioner, Mr E. Mason, before the parade in the precinct. The flag was then taken furled to Bolton Parish Church for a dedication. The pictures show the handing over of the flag, watched by the then Mayor, Cllr Alan Clarke, and the procession to the church.
