THE British Electricity Authority began on Monday a system of giving to every user of electricity a "day of risk". On his "day of risk" each user - private or industrial - will suffer cuts in the electricity supply as and when necessary.

Our "day of risk" is Friday. If, therefore, on any Friday your Evening News is late, or does not arrive at all, please do not blame your newsagent or your newspaper. We shall do our utmost to serve you in the difficult situation. Please also do not telephone us. It will only make our task more difficult.

The help of the consumer is also called for. He is earnestly asked to keep off the peak periods, namely: 8 o'clock to 12 noon. 4 o'clock to 5.30pm.
