LAST weekend,13 swimmers represented Bolton Metro Swimming Squad at the Northern Counties Short Coarse Meet held at Macclesfield Leisure Centre.
This was the first designated meet of the season with all the events being Open Age and resulted in cut-off times being low, so competition was tough.
Despite this the swimmers progressive improvement was apparent with many swimmers achieving PB's in particular 13-year-old Daniel Coombs who swam a 15-second personal best in the 400 Individual Medley and five other PB's from six swims.
The following swimmers achieved Top Three placings in their respective age groups:

Daniel Cordingley 13 Year Old 50m Breaststroke (1st), 200m Individual Medley (2nd),100m Breaststroke (2nd), 400m Individual Medley (3rd),200m Breaststroke (1st),Daniel Coombs 13 Year Old 50m Freestyle (2nd), 200m Backstroke (1st),100m Backstroke (1st), 50m Backstroke (2nd), 100m Freestyle (3rd), 50m Butterfly (3rd), Brian Halstead 13 Year Old 400m Freestyle (3rd), 200m Butterfly (2nd), 400m Individual Medley (2nd).
