A NEW reading service for children in Bury is designed to encourage more youngsters and their parents to pick up a book.
The Sure Start initiative is targeting families, with children aged between 18 months and three years, who live in and around the Redvales area.
Each family will receive a Sure Stories goody bag and promotional literature for the library service.
There will also be recommended reading lists plus guidance on how adults and children can enjoy books and stories together.
The new initiativewas formally launched today with nursery class pupils at St Thomas's CE Primary School, Pimhole Road, Bury.
