A TERRIFIC start by Great Lever and Farnworth ensured the Jack Taylor Trophy would be heading back down Plodder Lane.
The 1999 winners clinched the final BGA competition of the year by taking the first three games and although holders Dunscar salvaged some pride by taking the two final games the match was already lost.
Mike Barlow and John Livesey claimed the opening point at Old Links with a win on the 19th hole over the experienced Ian Bond and John Smethurst. Paul Thompson and Ian Johnson beat Andrew Taylor and Dave Shepherd 4&3 before Julian Butterworth and Peter Whittaker accounted for Tony Maycroft and Roger Burke 3&2.
Dunscar bounced back when Kevin Marden and Neil Hazzleton beat Alan Dixon and Dave Barton 5&4 while Steve Greenhough and Mark Riley had a 2&1 win over Jeff Southern and Paul Grady.
