YOUTHS threw a large firework through the window of a frightened pensioner's home.
Betty Wood found a six inch firework in her hallway which was littered with fragments of broken glass.
She believed it had been thrown through the window the night before by a group of children who had been playing nearby.
The 79-year-old woman, of Park View Road, Daubhill, has now called for fireworks to be banned.
She said: "They should only be allowed at organised displays. They are far too dangerous when they get into the wrong hands. My whole house could have set on fire."
The Wolf Attack firework had been set alight but Mrs Wood, who has lived at her home for 40 years, said it did not cause serious damage.
