A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was airlifted to hospital when he was in collision with a van as he went to catch a bus to Turton High School.
Christopher Davies, of Wood Lea Chase, Bull Hill, Darwen, suffered a broken arm, as well as cuts and bruises, after the accident.
He was walking for his bus at 8am yesterday when he collided with the side of a Mercedes van.
Paramedics arrived at the scene, at the junction of Bolton Road and Wood Lea Chase, near Darwen and decided to call the air ambulance.
The driver of the van, Paul Bennett, aged 43, of Grasmere Avenue, Warrington, was treated at the Royal Blackburn Hospital for shock.
The pupil was airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital where he remains today. Police have not appealed for any witnesses.
